Cascate di Fanes, or Fanes Waterfalls, are a series of impressive waterfalls located near Cortina d'Ampezzo in the Veneto region of Italy. Hiking tips
- Trail Access: The hike to Cascate di Fanes typically starts from the Pian de Loa car park, located about 3 kilometers from Hotel Fiames. From there, follow path 10-401 into the woods leading to the Valle di Fanes.
- Difficulty: The route includes sections equipped with metal cables; therefore, via ferrata equipment is recommended for safety. However, alternative paths are available to avoid these sections if preferred.
- Duration: The complete loop, including the equipped sections, can take approximately 3 to 4 hours, depending on pace and stops.
- Preparation: Wear sturdy hiking boots, carry sufficient water and snacks, and check weather conditions before setting out, as the area can be slippery, especially near the waterfalls.
