Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden

Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden is one of the most picturesque alpine villages in Germany, tucked deep in the Berchtesgaden National Park in the southeastern corner of Bavaria. The village is best known for its small parish church of St. Sebastian, standing beside the Ramsauer Ache river with the dramatic peaks of the Reiter Alpe rising behind. Ramsau lies about 6 km west of Berchtesgaden and can be reached by car or local bus. Parking near the St. Sebastian church is limited, especially in peak season, so arrive early. Several cafés and guesthouses are located within walking distance of the main viewpoint. Bring warm clothing — the valley can be chilly, even on sunny autumn days.
