This loop along the Jutland coast begins and ends in Løkken, a seaside town that shows its best side once the season has passed and the wide beaches are left to themselves again. From the village the path runs northward across the sand, past the remains of the Atlantic Wall — concrete bunkers half-swallowed by dunes or slowly being reclaimed by the sea. That combination of open horizon and rusting wartime heritage gives the route something melancholic. Not heavy, but it stays with you.
The terrain is largely flat — with barely twenty metres of elevation change across the entire route, this is no climb but a walk where the space does the work. The beach alternates with dune paths and the occasional stretch of firm track toward Nørre Lyngby, where a small jetty reaches out into the surf. The light here is quintessentially North Jutlandic: broad, diffuse, with shadows that linger. On overcast days the grey-green dune grasses and the dark concrete of the bunkers take on an almost graphic quality — exactly the kind of light a camera knows what to do with.
At just over ten kilometres and an easy pace of around three hours, this is a route you can walk without rushing. Well suited to those who want to wander without any agenda — photographers, unhurried walkers, and anyone who simply wants to be by the sea without turning it into an ordeal. The return leg along the beach closes the loop in the most natural way, with Løkken visible long before you arrive.
